ASSIGNMENT #1 Social Issues Video

  2. Saving and uploading photos to iMovie
  3. iMovie basics, editing the length of video and photos, adding transitions, adding text, adding music to your project
  4. Exporting your iMovie project to a m4v or .mov file
  5. Uploading video to www.schooltube.com
  6. Embedding video on your online portfolio

The purpose of this assignment is for you to learn the basics of iMovie and video editing.  You will be producing a video about a "Social Issue" that means something to you.  We discussed what a social is and how to choose your topic.  The requirements for this video are:
 
  • You must use at least 10 facts about the issue you chose. (titles)
  • You must use at least 25 photos that represent your issue's problem. (pictures) You will have ONE class day to find your facts and photos.  I REPEAT ONE CLASS DAY.  If you don't get it done you will have to do it on your own.  You may use the internet to download the photos.  Make sure you use LARGE SIZE when filtering your photos.  
  • You will have a title at the beginning, and a biography at the end stating where you got your information and photographs.  
  • You should use transitions.
  • You will use music that fits the video and that is for public use.  (sites were listed on the board in class)
  • The video should be 2-5 minutes long.
  • Share the video as a high quality quicktime movie.
  • Create an account on www.schooltube.com and upload your video.
  • Once it is moderated you will copy the embed code from the schooltube site and paste it on new page called "Video" on your web page.
  • You will create your own music in garage band or use some preexisting music in garageband.  You may not use copywritten music.
